What You Never Learned About Being an Imposter…
You feel like an imposter because sometimes… we are.
We learned to repeat wisdom without ever embodying it. School conditioned us to memorize far from truth. So we became fluent in sounding profound without ever becoming it.
That’s why copying your coach’s words feels off. There’s a residue to it, a slight nausea in the body, as if the nervous system whispers, this isn’t ours.
It’s why faking it never really lands, no matter how much they tell you to f•ck your emotions.
And why no matter how many certifications you collect, how immaculate your title sounds, something inside still feels
…uninitiated.
Because wisdom is not mental.
Wisdom is lived in the body.
You can steal someone’s strategy, their exact phrasing, heck even their story but it won’t ever be yours.
Because the energy won’t match.
Because the nervous system hasn’t experienced it.
Strategy isn’t enough , capacity is.
When youre evolving youre entering a territory your biology has not yet coded as safe. And this is when the resistance shows its fangs. You start doubting , like no matter what you do, you don’t belong
That moment gets misinterpreted as unworthiness, yet it’s expansion.
You’re stretching into identity you haven’t fully lived yet, and the nervous system is simply doing what it knows, keeping us with the familiar.
Self doubt isnt a sign we’re not ready. We dont become competent before trying. Yet we internalized the belief that failure, exposure, embarrassment meant something was wrong.
In reality, it means something is right.
The people who feel like imposters are rarely mediocre. Read that AGAIN .
They’re usually the ones with higher standards. The ones who are self aware enough to see their own edges. The ones stepping outside of comfort, entering spaces their lineage has never been.
Confidence is not the starting point.
Confidence is what comes along the way from facing FEAR.
It is the byproduct of doing the thing while shaking, while trembling, while encountering resistance.
That quake in your ribcage, that tightness in your throat, that whisper that asks “who TF do you think you are?”
that is not evidence of fraudulence.
That is initiation.
A doorway.
A threshold.
Cross it.
