You’re Not Tired From the Work: You’re Tired From Believing Your Worth Comes From It

Your work ethic has never been a problem. You have built against odds. You took risks and created something out of nothing. People doubted, and you did it anyway. That part of you has always been strong.

And yet… somewhere along the way, you abandoned yourself. High functioning on the outside, quietly shut down and hypervigilant on the inside. You are successful on paper, but numb or worse, anxious all the time. Having everything you worked for, but feeling hollow in places you can’t explain. You can’t quite name what’s missing, but you can feel it like you lost your relationship with awe and the mystery of Life itself.

And this happens to many women. You are not tired from the work. You are tired of believing your value comes from it.

We grow up hyper independent, being told that our worth is based on what we do. If we want to live life on our terms, we must be willing to make sacrifices. So we mistake hypervigilance for intuition, overriding our natural cycles as adrenaline courses through our veins. And this doesn’t occur to weak women. It happens because of conditioning that tells us, You must perform to be safe. You must earn the rest first by demonstrating that you are valuable. We try to be impressive as our body’s needs are ignored, as they signal… this is costing me.

Suddenly, we actually don’t know how to listen to sensation. Overfunctioning becomes competency. We can read a room in seconds, but lose touch with our own bodies and internal worlds… with sensuality and the potency of our voices.

When we live from the neck up, the body eventually shuts down. Not as punishment, but as protection. Our nervous system goes into mild freeze, collapse, or fawn. The mind stays efficient, while our heart goes offline. We think we are tired from working, but really, we are fatigued from never truly receiving ourselves fully.

Receiving feels dangerous when survival was built on self sacrifice.

If I receive more, will I owe more?
If I slow down, will everything fall apart?
If I stop performing, am I still valuable?

This is where women sabotage quietly. This is where desire becomes terrifying. This is where we numb for the next milestone, thinking maybe the next achievement will fill us…

And I know this all too well because been there, done that. But as a mother, you’re cracked open, again and again. You're forced to see where you have been abandoning yourself and be honest with it. Because the more you do so, the harder it is to be a mother, and ultimately this self abandonment reflects in how we raise our children. In the wounds we haven’t healed.

When you're sleep deprived, of course, your nervous system wants ease. Of course, our bodies need nourishment.

So I had to slow down, and in that process, my heart wanted to wander again, to see life differently, to feel life differently. To play with possibilities with the primordial portal. Exhaustion doesn’t occur from working hard; it reveals itself when we are working out of alignment with what truly nourishes us. It’s when we deviate from joy, denying vitality within the body.

For me, life is more than just building a business; it’s devotion, ritual, and its resonance.

Devotion matters. Not the type of devotion that comes from force or just discipline, but the devotion that comes from emotional resonance. Repetition that feels nourishing to our souls because they are seeds we are planting for the future as we learn to water them in the now. Showing up not because you’re hustling for worth, but because you are choosing aliveness. Devotion becomes a way of remembering yourself. A way of coming back into your body. A way of retraining the nervous system to know that receiving is safe. Through what is felt, not just thought.

To our evolution and becoming…

And interestingly enough, our subconscious learns through repetition and sensation the moment our bodies trust they can receive without losing themselves.

The numbness lifts. The internal collapse begins to thaw. The intuition becomes clearer than hypervigilance. Desire becomes guidance, not danger. You come back into relationship with awe, with magic, with the mystery of being alive.

And suddenly, the business you were building from effort becomes a portal of vitality. Clients show up differently. Money shows up differently. You are no longer exhausted because your work is no longer your source of value.

You are the source.
